Meet DJ J-Hill$.
James Manley didn't discover music when he became a DJ. Music has always been one of his God-given gifts.
With a mother who line dances, a father who plays guitar, and four brothers who all play instruments, James grew up in a family where music came naturally. He began playing an instrument in seventh grade, continued in concert band throughout middle and high school, and joined the marching band in high school. From an early age, he was regularly trusted with first-chair and lead responsibilities—an early sign of both his natural musical instinct and his ability to rise in competitive ensembles.
That foundation carried him to North Carolina A&T State University, where he marched with Cold Steel, the storied drumline of the nationally recognized Blue & Gold Marching Machine. As a freshman, James earned a section-leader position within a highly competitive drumline of more than 50 drummers—an exceptional early leadership accomplishment in a program that draws musicians from across the country. Years before he stepped behind DJ decks, he was already learning rhythm, timing, musical discipline, performance, and how energy moves through a crowd.

James sees that lifelong instinct, discipline, and pattern of musical leadership as a gift from God. Today, it informs more than five years behind the decks and multiple ongoing residencies. He has worked bars, clubs, restaurants, weddings, private parties, corporate events, school and college events—including multiple events for North Carolina A&T and Guilford College—Sweet 16s, skating venues, and family entertainment spaces. His style is adaptable, crowd-aware, and built around what the moment needs.
J-Hill Entertainment was created as a company that can grow beyond one name while keeping a consistent standard for preparation, professionalism, and the guest experience. Today, every booking is led by DJ J-Hill$.

What kind of music does DJ J-Hill$ play?
DJ J-Hill$ is an open-format DJ. The music is shaped around the venue, event, audience, and energy you want rather than a one-size-fits-all playlist.
Can J-Hill Entertainment provide sound, lighting, and a microphone?
Yes. A professional two-speaker sound system, DJ equipment, microphone, and event lighting are available. Final production needs are confirmed around the room, guest count, and event format.
Do you handle announcements, formalities, and ceremony audio?
Yes. MCing, announcements, wedding formalities, timeline coordination, and ceremony audio can be included when they are part of the confirmed event scope.
What areas do you serve?
The primary service area is Greensboro and the North Carolina Triad, including High Point and Winston-Salem. Events outside the Triad can be discussed and quoted based on travel and production needs.
Can a venue start with a trial event?
Yes. Bars, restaurants, and event venues can start with a paid trial before building a recurring event. Pricing is confirmed after sound, duration, schedule, and venue requirements are understood.
Does sending an inquiry reserve my date?
No. An inquiry starts the conversation. Availability, scope, pricing, and the steps required to confirm the booking are provided in writing before a date is considered reserved.
